What we measure
IRON STATUS
Comprehensive assessment of iron levels, storage, and transport to identify deficiency or excess.
- Ferritin
- Stored iron, the best indicator of iron status. Low levels indicate iron deficiency.
- Iron (Serum)
- Circulating iron levels, which can fluctuate throughout the day.
- Transferrin
- Iron transport protein. Levels increase in iron deficiency.
- Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC)
- Measures the blood's capacity to bind iron. Elevated in iron deficiency.
