ANTIDEPRESSANTS
Genetic variants affecting how your body metabolizes antidepressant medications.
- CYP2D6
- Critical enzyme for metabolizing many antidepressants including SSRIs, tricyclics, and others. Variants can cause poor or ultra-rapid metabolism.
- CYP2C19
- Metabolizes SSRIs like citalopram, escitalopram, and sertraline. Variants affect drug effectiveness and side effects.
- CYP2C9
- Affects metabolism of some antidepressants and can influence drug interactions.
ANTIPSYCHOTICS
Genetic variants affecting antipsychotic medication metabolism and response.
- CYP2D6
- Metabolizes many antipsychotics including risperidone, aripiprazole, and others. Variants significantly affect drug levels and side effects.
- CYP1A2
- Metabolizes clozapine and olanzapine. Variants can cause drug accumulation and increased side effects.
MOOD STABILIZERS
Genetic variants affecting mood stabilizer medications.
- HLA-B*1502
- Genetic variant that increases risk of severe skin reactions to carbamazepine.
- CYP2C19
